Rememberable, regardable Manipuri Muslim personal in Bangladesh:
Mr. Md Abdus Samad (Sajaubom): He was a gleaming educationist, multi-linguistics and a great social worker of Bangladesh. He was born 1912 in a renowned and virtuous family of Village Bandergaon, Union Adampur, Upa Zilla Kamalganj under Moulvi Bazr District. He was all along a commendable student. He was rewarded stipend all through his student life. He had obtained Matriculation from Moulvi Bazar Government High School in 1935, Higher Secondary certificate in 1937 and B.A. in 1939 from M.C. College, Sylhet. He was the first graduate among the Manipuri Muslims of Bangladesh. After completion of education he first joined as a teacher in Moulvi Bazar Government School, then as a excise Inspector in Karimganj, afterward as a Sub-Inspector of School in Hailakandi, Karimganj. But He could fail to adjust the atmosphere of the Offices. His morality resists continuing his service, so he left it and joined as a Madrasa teacher in Fulbari, Sylhet. There he became murid (Followers) of the Fulbari’s Pir Saheb. Then he had returned to his village home and started his Fakiri life. After that he joined on the local M.A. Wahab High School as a Head Master, but his activities brought some dispute with the chief of the School Managing committee, so he was dismissed. But the general public of the locality specially the Manipuri inhabitant could not accept the decision. They sat together and decided to establish a new School as a symbol of protest against the decision taken by the Managing committee. Within the fortnight they built a hemp shade in the Village Tetaigaon adjoining to Adampur Bazar and started sparking the light of education from there. Mr. Abdus Samad became the Head Master of the School. After a long struggle when the institute became a real centre of education of the locality, he left the post of Headmaster and act as Assistant Head Master until his retirement and devoted himself to religious labor. Finally, the responsibility of nursing of the School established by him was given to a Social Worker Mr. Rashid uddin (Moinam Mayum) of village Kandigaon and it was named as Tetai gaon Rashid Uddin Higher secondary School. Now the School become one of the best School in the area and centre of the Higher secondary School examination. He died in 2nd July 1992. Really he was the light house of education in the Bhanugach valley.
